emerge: move out or away from something and come into view
Therapy is about uncovering your truest self, learning about who you are and exploring how you want to exist in the world. It can be a place for healing, a place to grow and change, or a place to begin uncovering who you really are so that you may live from a place of deeper peace and confidence. Any number of things may get in the way of you being your most authentic self. These obstacles are often rooted in fear, shame, anger, and hopelessness, as well as systems of oppression and other external stressors.
"Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light"
-BRENÉ BROWN
My hope is that as we share space, you will feel seen and known without judgment, and you will begin to uncover and embrace parts of yourself that have been hidden or dormant. As you move beyond the barriers that have kept you stuck, new growth can occur.
My approach is centered in acceptance, connection, and non-judgment. As your therapist, I will align myself with you as we
work together to discover what you need in order to find peace
and fulfillment in your life and relationships. I work with issues including depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and trauma/abuse. I enjoy working with folks who
are actively looking to grow and experience themselves more fully.
I utilize a variety of modalities and techniques based on the specific needs of my clients. I am trained in EMDR therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I provide a multicultural perspective that honors the unique experiences and values of each client and couple and I work with individuals and couples in traditional and non-traditional relationships.
